Mabel R. Hill, 96, Orofino
     
Mabel Rodgers Hill passed away on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2007, at Clearwater Health and Rehabilitation Center in Orofino. She was born Dec. 29, 1910, on a homestead at Freeman Creek (the homestead is now underwater by Dworshak Reservoir), to Ben and Mollie Bloom Murray. She attended grade schools at Teaken and Cavendish. She graduated from Peck High School in 1929. She married Raymond (Dutch) Rodgers Sept. 9, 1936, in Lewiston. He passed away Oct. 24, 1969.
     She married John Hill April 13, 1974. He passed away Aug. 21, 1975. Mabel was a 30 year member of the Bluebell Rebekah Lodge, and a past member of Sod Busters Garden Club. She enjoyed doing crafts, working in her garden and taking care of the birds in her backyard. Up until recent years Mabel enjoyed numerous hunting and fishing trips with her family. Her entire lifetime was spent in Clearwater County.
     She is survived by a sister, Gertrude Ring of Orofino, niece Karen McKinley and husband Larry of Craigmont, a nephew Kenneth Murray, of both Orofino and Surprise, Ariz.
     Mabel was a loving and devoted great-aunt to many great-nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and a niece, Patricia Thomason.
     Graveside services are planned for 11 a.m. Monday, at Sunnyside Cemetery in Lenore, with Clarence Howard officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Bluebell Rebekah Lodge, P. O. Box 1541, Orofino, ID 83544, or a charity of your choice.
     Pine Hills Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
